Post Full Duplexing 100 mpbs over router help...

    Hi,
I have two PCs with 2K. Both have 100 mbps NICs and I have a linksys switch. (just switch no router.) when i tell them to use the full duplexing mode I loose connectivity between the two machines. The switch says it supports full duplex @ 100 and so do the NIC drivers and spec sheets. Any thoughts?

(I can't even ping the machines from each other.)

if your NIC are Realtek Based it's a known problem.

replace then to 3Com 90x cards or Intel Pro 100 +

Though i very much Appriciate the Knowledge of Condor - i would try another Computer - It Sounds like a Driver Problem.

Also Check the Line Specs and Length - Should be a good thing to Check!

Can you change the settings on the switch so that it is set to 100Mpbs/Full? I have seen that problem on DEC equip through a Cisco switch.

Correcto mundo. One of the NICs is realtek based. The other is a Netgear FA310TX. Would a realtek drive update fix this or am I a shot?

    unfortunatly no

just switch this card manually to half duplex..

you can throw this POS realtek card and get a 3Com or Intel Card ... - kiss your troubles goodbye
