After building a new pc for my step-brother this weekend (P3 933 on an ASUS CUSLP-C MB), I updated the ATA100 drivers and noticed that the Hard drives are now listed by make/model in control panel/system/disk drives.
So I was checking mine (P3 850 on ASUS P3BF) and my drives are shown as generic disk type 47. My question is what drivers do I use to get this to work properly on my system? I would assume after the correct ATA66 drivers are installed it will show my drives correctly. Does it really even matter if the drives show up as generic or not? I've never had any problems, I just want to take advantage of ATA66 if it isn't already. How do I check? thx guys
