Now you see me, now you don't
I have a windows 2000 server with one win2000 workstation. The workstation sees shares on the win2000 server fine. Sometimes all of a sudden, the server can't access the win2000 shares anymore. What gives. I can ping the workstation ok though. TCP/IP corrupt ? Please help.

Is your setup peer-to-peer? I would try to remove all the network settings & reinstall them (nic,tcp/ip,etc...) Also, make sure you've got the latest drivers for the NIC's.
Good luck!

is the server a DC?
if not - it may have handed out the master browser to the other machine (the 2kpro) and it doesnt want to promote itself.
also - installing WINS never hurt anyone, same with DNS.
if all else fails - there is the option of a hosts file
