zone alarm and the internet
ok guys i looked and looked 4 were i should post this and im not even sure i should post this on this board cause i couldn't find right discussion anyway here it goes......ok guys this is really killing me this is the deal when i go to close out zonealarm it tells me i can shut down zone pro but cannot shut down true vector internet monitor cause it is in use by other programs if u proceed internet access rules will still be in effect even with out zone alarm ......ok now i can't even surf the net if i quit it just shuts my con down and im on cable sooooo can some one tell me wtf to do its killin me!!!!

I stopped using ZoneAlarm and switched to Tiny Personal Firewall for the reason you described above, plus other problems I was having. ZoneAlarm didn't get along with my DSL "dialer" software at all. No problems with Tiny whatsoever. And it's free and approved by www.grc.com
The one thing I can think of is to look for an option in ZA that mentions something about running as a service. Try toggling that option and see if it helps. Don't remember the exact details tho, as I don't use it anymore
If you have paid for ZoneAlarmPro, then you should be entitled to some technical support.

Is this a problem of ZoneAlarm only in PRO version? ... and with what OS?
I'm using ZA 2.1.44 with no probs till now (Win98,1st)

Run msconfig, uncheck true vector service, reboot.
