    Post Service Control Manager Erros

    After installing a certain program I now get the following error in w2K

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 7011
    Date: 7/5/2001
    Time: 10:45:42 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: K62-400
    Description:
    Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the Dnscache service.

    I have uninstalled the net card from device manager and reinstalled. Only running TCP/IP. Connected through ICS. This setup was working fine before. Any ideas on a fix other than reloading?..

    The program that was installed caused the hosts file c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to climb to a file size of about 375k. I took the hosts file back to default that has only one entry
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    and the system returned to normal operation. Installed the program again (Spyblocker) and it failed again the same way, so it was not an installation glitch. Removed it again and burned the program that caused it.. Any one else used this program?
