    Post Network issue with Win95

A Compaq Deskpro running Win95 is giving me some headaches.

Using TCP/IP, it can either use the Netware Client 32 (v3.3 to access Netware) or the Microsoft Network Client (NT domain login), but if I load up both clients, I get a "Windows protection error" just before the desktop loads.

    Here's a rundown:

TCP/IP with MS Network Client = OK
    TCP/IP with Netware Client 32 = OK
TCP/IP with both = NOT OK
TCP/IP with MS Network Client after Netware Client 32 is uninstalled = NOT OK
TCP/IP with Netware Client 32 after MS Network client in uninstalled = OK

    I've re-installed TCP/IP and clients numerous times.

IE 5.5 has also been installed.

    I've also updated Winsock.

    What is going on?

    3 things to check:

Are your NT and Netware passwords and usernames the same? The NW client can login to the domain if the settings are correct on the client, just a matter of clicking ok if i'm not mistaken...

You should set the primary logon to the Netware client, it makes things go smoother.

Have you updated the client to the latest service packs? The most recent one is dated June 29 2001. You can get it here:
