that happend a lot in the 60`s & early 70`s,when a plane landed.120k to 0 ,in about 80`.a lot of G`s. that mis. was not fired.

If it was fired, it would just be a blur. What do I know, we didn't have carriers in the USCG

I saw similar things on the Nimitz while I was onboard. Most often it was drop tanks that had cracked mount points or were on faulty hardpoints.

Just the thought of live ordnance sliding on the deck gives me the willies!!
