    Question problem to play dvd drive...

    hi my problem is when I play a dvd movie on my dvd drive my pc pop out a error code specifying "unknown file format",I have a generic pc made for myself its a pentium III 800eb mhz and I using windows 2000 professional,video card its a voodoo 4500,memory a crucial pc133 256mb ram,the mobo its a new "fic" fa15t,the software for my dvd its a new cyberlink power dvd xp 4.0,the error code show me its 89030000 its sombody know something about it...

    I would try another DVD Player software and see what I have to see..

    Before you do the above, check the DMA option for your DVD unit. Try to enable or disable it.
    Also, download and install the latest version of DirectX.

    PowerDVD has a diagnostic that should pop after a fresh install that allows you to enable or disable DMA settings...

    Last time I saw a problem like this it turned out that the firmware of the DVD-ROM was programmed with the wrong region code. What struck me about it at the time was the error message I was getting, which in no way, shape, or form implied that that was the problem. I'm not saying that's your problem, but it's something else to look into if all else fails.
