    Talking Introduce yourself!!!

There was a topic that I was reading yesterday that seemed very emotional. I posted a couple times, as did many others. However, the topic ended up closing without any real resolution, and many ideas and opinions were either misunderstood or miscommunicated. so I came up with an idea. Maybe if we all introduce ourselves to each other, (whether we know each other already or not) then we can level the playing field a tad and get to know each other a little better. Here's my introduction...

Hello everyone,... Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Sean (alias 6DöG9). I'm a 28 year old male. I'm caucasian and was born in San Diego California in October of 1972. I started becoming interested in computers around the time the Commodore 64 came out, and have had a great interest ever since. One day I was looking for some drivers for some hardware, and I came across Windrivers. I signed up immediately, but never posted on the UBB. Recently, I've been participating and posting and spend about 15% of my time posting in the tech forums, and the other 85% in the lounge. I haven't met everyone here formally or anything like that, but I'm sure many know who I am by now. I think there are many interesting personalities here, and it's fun to be here, and learn, and joke around, etc. Anyway, I would just like to say, it's nice to be here, and I look forward to staying awhile.

    LOL,...
BTW, The reason I posted this topic is that maybe this will give everyone here a chance to tell who they are and what they're all about. Some of the newbies (or even oldbies) might feel like they're being shunned and/or left out or whatever, and I'm hoping this gives everyone a chance to say, "Wasabe!!" Then it'll be all good!!! Anyway, I'm done with this topic, and I'm going back to posting useless posts and nonsense in the other topics. -Later!!!

All right, I'm a 28 year old happily-married male from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I'm a bench tech at Computer Renaissance with expertise primarily in hardware and Win9X. My pictures are available on the Windrivers.Freinds page here: http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/sburney/index.html

Very well then where do I begin?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving Bulangeran owner from Belgium, with low-grade narcolepsy and a pentiet for buggery, my mother was a 15 year old prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he'd make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark, sometimes he would acuse chestnuts of being lazy! The kind, general malaise that only the genius posses and the insane lament.

My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lesson, in the spring we'd make meat helmets, when I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds.....pretty standard, really. At the age of 12 I recieved my first scribe, At the age of 14 a Zoarorstrian named Virma R-I-T-U-A-L-I-S-T-I-C-A-L-L-Y shaved my testicles...There is NOTHING like a shorn scrotum it's breathtaking I suggest you try it.

    Can you take a good guess as to where I got that from? <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

COBRA'S LIFE STORY (hey, you asked for it)

My name is Jason. I live in Shenandoah County, VA, where old people come to die and rednecks come to have meaningful relationships with their sisters and assorted farm animals.

My parents were, and still are for the most part, complete idiots. My mother is a professional b!7c#, and I don't know and don't care what dad does for a living - I think it's something having to do with air conditioners or selling cocaine, I really never paid attention. Dad's hobbies include complaining about everything and doing crossword puzzles, and mom once won a gold medal in the b!tc#ing, nagging, and yelling triathlon at the 1960 Olympics.

I have an older brother and sister. My sister and I always got along well, and she's about the only person in my family I can stand to be in the same with for more than 5 minutes. My brother is the person who turned me into such a complete b@S7@rd, because he was so much bigger than me, and I had to learn to fight dirty, cheat, and look for other's weak points just to survive. I once nearly killed my brother by hitting him in the head with a hammer, and my sister also almost killed him by breaking a Pepsi bottle over his head (this was the early 80s, when it was that big, thick 16oz bottle glass). My sister and I both agreed that if our brother was gone, our lives would be much easier.

Anyway, I managed to survive my childhood, practically raising myself. Once I got a set of wheels at 16, I dropped out of school, got a GED, and got a job. My parents thought I was still going to school and worked part time in the afternoons, but I was actually hanging out with a very rough crowd, and got into drugs briefly. I never got hooked on anything harder than pot, as I saw one of my very close friends OD on heroin and die. I still think about it every day, and I wish it could've been me instead.

Right after I turned 18, mom and dad found out that I was a drop out, and looking to do something that would even further piss them off and possibly walk out of my life forever, I married a 20 year old girl that I had only known for 2 weeks. It back-fired on me, because after a month of living together, I realized we hated each other. I walked out after 3 months, and at 6 months, we were no longer legally Mr. & Mrs. Cobra. No hard feelings, no kids...and I discover that I'm impossible to live with.

About this time, I decided to go back to school and try to better myself. I enrolled in Community College, but that didn't work out too well either. I don't like school, and school doesn't like me, so the dean and I agreed that I should quit.

I quit, and around that time, I heard that a local computer shop was in need of a head technician. I applied and the owner asked me if I'd be willing to start that day, so I did. I worked there for 3 1/2 years, until we hired a bunch of new techs, one of which was an old nemesis of mine from high school. He was everything I wasn't - had a REAL high school diploma, 2 year college degree, and was about to become MCSE certified (out of his own pocket). He put a bug in the boss's ear, and turned him against me. I left in March this year.

I now work as a Network Engineer for an ISP. I got the job because I became good buddies with the VP during my retail tech days. I don't do anything there really except put out servers that are on fire and take 2 hour lunch breaks at Hooters. And I also post on Windrivers most of the day.

I've straightened things out with my family for the most part, though I'd still rather avoid them if need be, except for my sister, who is now dying of Hepatitus C. One of the few people I actually care about is losing a fight for her life, and there's nothing I can do to help her.

Sorry for this post being so long. Mods, edit it for content if you have to. I just needed to blow off some steam, and this seemed like a good a place as any.

OK, my name is Tim, I'm 31, and I live in Virginia Beach. (That's in Virginia. You'd be surprised.) Happily(?) married with two young daughters, 1 and 5. Since Cobra finally explained his, uh, issues, I guess I will, too. Grew up in PA, got arrested quite a bit from age 13 on, got kicked out of Penn State (not state pen... I kill me!) and, after my ex-fiancee had my *** kicked and took me for 5k, joined the Navy. This definately did not help my bitter attitude. After the Navy, figured this computer thing was for real, and am now a field tech for an engineering software company.

Siblings? I have a professional engineer for a brother whose sh!t ACTUALLY DOES NOT STINK (just ask him or my parents) and a sister who suddenly discovered redneckism about a year ago. Who'd a thunk I would be the somewhat steady one?

    Is all that touchy-feelie enough? Anyone need a hug? Good, now leave me the hell alone! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
