    This is cool, they are proposing volunteer reserve units of technically skilled people to be available in emergencies such as 9/11 and conflicts and such, to help make sure that IT is available to the services that need it.

    I'm not in the States but if something like this happens in Canada, or if they do a North America wide thing, I am going to volunteer for it.

    Windrivers could really be involved in it too, if Scott and Internet.com were interested. God knows these forums weild an awful lot of geek power!!!

    I wonder what criteria they would use to decide who can join, or if anybody can?

    What kind of simulations and exercises they would go through?

    What would BGT (Basic Geek Training) consist of? Squads of geeks marching around Best Buy? Ironing our "parade" T-shirts? Skipping with CAT-5 cable? Being instructed in close quarters hacker-jitsu?
