What if........again but different
What if you never got into computers? What would you be doing for a career. Better put, what did you do for a career before you went into computers, if anything?

Nothing very interesting.

Hmm,
I was a music major for a little while, I could have stayed with performing arts (and I am not gay!)...
I also studied seismology for a little while... That was cool. (Yes, very active fault system in New Hampshire (not...))...
Working my way up in management in the supermarket I used to work in (made it asst deli manager! woohoo!)
Mowing lawns...
Gigilo..
Now sure what else...

Let's see:
Optician / Lens Technician (Didn't really choose this but my folks owned an optical and made me earn my high school and college money)
Did some substitute teaching after getting my bachelors degree in secondary education
Worked as a teaching assistant in a boys residential facility (Mental Health)
Worked as Child Care Specialist at above facility
Worked with Adult Schizophrenics at a different residential program
I'd probably still be in the mental health field if I wasn't working in computers. I'm not making much more now as an operator as I was working in mental health, but there's more advancement. And once I finish my Assoc. in IT Networking, who knows.

I'd probably work in construction. In fact, I've seriously been thinking about giving up computers to go into that anyway.
Either that, or I'd own a cool sports bar.

The only one that I would still be doing, and might have made a "career" out of would be working in a drill manufacturing plant for several years. Everything else was hit or miss.

I worked a whole bunch of manual labor useless summer jobs, the best being a T-Ball Umpire.
Got my degree with a double major in History and Political Science.
Went into construction building houses, hated it, tried to get into Grad school for BANA.
Didn't make it in, worked at an ice manufactorer for a year, and drank way way to much.
Packed up moved to Dallas, got a paper CNE, got lucky enough to get a job, and the rest is history.

What type of job would you be interested in? I work for a Contracting company and may be able to get you a job....
Before my current job I worked several different departments at a local Grocery Store/Chain. I've only had two jobs as I kept the previous job for just over 4 years, and I've been at the current job for almost 2 yrs.

I'd probably want to be in graphic or comic design. Its about the only thing I could almost do.
Other than that, I'd love to be involved in the aftermarket automotive performance scene, but Im not smart enough, or have enough financial backing
