Best 1st person shooter and RTS game
There are many first person shooters and Real time strategy games out now, and i was wondering which ones were considered best here.
My Vote:
FPS - 1. Unreal Tournament, 2. Quake 3 Arena
RTS - 1. West wood C&C series, especially Red Alert 2, 2. Starcraft
Tell us what you think.....

My personal favorite is Quake 3 (Team Arena). But Tribes 2 is taking a BIG chunk out of the fan base. (me thinks it time to have a look-see at Tribes 2 and see what all the fuss is about.)

FPS:
1: Half-life / Counterstrike
2: Unreal Tournament
3: Quake 3 / Urban Terror (www.urbanterror.net)
4: Dark Forces / Jedi Knight
5: Duke Nukem
RTS:
1: Starcraft
2: Warcraft 2, Multiplayer.
3: Age of empires 2
I just cant wait for Warcraft 3, looks to be brilliant, beyond that, the RTS front has been pretty stagnant lately, methinks

Hey that Urban Terror looks pretty cool EvilCabbage I'll have to try that one.
ALSO I forgot to add two more RTS games I liked MechCommander Gold and Force 21.
I had my reservations about adding Kiss Psycho Circus...I don't know I guess it's ok.

Urbanterror is great, much like counterstrike, but its much faster, more action oriented, and has the better 3d engine. Definately worth the download.

Quake,a nd all its sequals, UT, and other games like it are boring as hell, especially multiplayer. Here is an example of a session:
Spawn, run around, firing madly, die. Respawn, firing madly, kill someone, run around, pick up crap loads of armour and ammo some one thoughtfully left lying about, kill some one. Run around, firing madly, die.
YAWN!
Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear/Urban Operations/Covert Ops. is infinately more fun and more involved. Real weapons. Skill is needed in order to play this game. No running around hyped up like some steroid fiend shooting everything that moves. 1 shot, 1 kill most of the time.

Lycia, you might want to check out Clive Barker's Undying. It's an FPS, based on the Unreal Tournament engine, but it actually has a storyline to it. In fact, it almost plays out like one of Barker's novels. It's not just run around and kill either, there's actually a good bit of exploration to it. It's gotten the attention of quite a few of my non-FPS-fan friends.
