I'm assuming it uses the same engine?

I like the idea of Wood and Moon Elves. Just wish I had a chance to get a good start on BG2. I beat BG1 though.

Ive always been under the impression that the Ice Wind series has blown. The first one was way too short. But the drow sounds cool. Id like to beable to recruit drizzt though.

    Good news!

gxavier in answer to your question the knock on Icewind Dale was that it was to linear. But it was meant to be that way, just one lone dungeon crawl. The expansion Pack Heart of Winter was short, hence Black Isle creating Trials of the Luremaster addon as a free download.

Now in that vein, some people, with the help of TeamBG, although not afilliated in any way with Black Isle or Interplay, has created an Epansion pack called The Darkest Day for Baldur's GateII.

Now there are two things everyone should know. This is a 266 meg download! Trials of the Luremaster was only 76 megs. It is highly recomended that yu remove then reinstall Bladur's Gate II then install The Darkest Day and start from the begining. Apparently thre are some changes early on that you will miss if you don't start from the begining.

The second thing to know and is at the moment unavoidable is that once you install The Darkest Day, you cannot install Throne of Bhaal. There is some compatability issues..they say they will release a patch for this in the future..once they completely work out the bugs in the current release.

Again, Drow Elves are available in TDD, including Drow Rangers and Warriors..

As I said this can be downloaded, 266 megs..However you can purchase a cd-rom for about $9.00 I think, plus on the CD you get Dark Tales of the Sowrd Coast Expansion for Baldur's Gate (this is not Tales of the Sword Coast, this is a similarly named expansion..)

Interesting, if they're going to stick with AD&D rules, Drow rangers do not exist. Sure, Drizzt is one, but he is the one and only exception.

I'm speaking of 2nd edition, I haven't gotten into 3rd edition yet (I spent over $100 on books and stuff, but haven't cracked any of it open yet (noone to gome with ).
