Talking I'm giving my gall bladder an eviction notice

I'm waiting for an official date for cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) which will be done through laparoscopic surgery.

My wife has had 5 surgeries using this type of procedure so I'm not overly worried.

What I'd like to know is if anyone else here has had their gall bladder removed and if they've noticed any change in their metabolism following it.

The "flow" comment was hilarious -haha. I never thought I'd miss excreting solid feces. As for picture Drone2093, I don't think so, you ghoul!

But you can check out the procedure here.

    Thumbs up

Oh, did I forget to mention that I'll be getting 4 weeks off work for this? Not bad for a 1-day surgical procedure.

But that's still not the best way to get extra vacation time in the summer.

    Thumbs up

I had my gall bladder removed about 6 years ago: piece of cake. The surgeon took before and after pictures...pretty neat.

My gastroentologist (sp?) told me I would have to quit all spicy foods, etc. I haven't changed a lick and I still enjoy all the foods I can stuff down my face. I have had to use Ranitidine (generic for Zantac) for GE Reflux...300mg twice a day.

Anyway, good luck to you...hopefully, you won't have any problems.

My father just had his removed last Friday and he was out and walking about Sunday.

Everyone I know that has had their gall bladder removed (my wife, both my parents, my grandfather – all within the last four years) has not notice a change in their metabolism. My wife has not had a single case of indigestion and/or heartburn since, and did I mention she eats jalapeno peppers straight from the jar?

4 weeks off? Remind me to take a job at your company if/when I have to have mine removed.

Thanks for your comments all - I really apreciate them.

And Poseidon, if you ever do need to find a job in Montreal, give me a holler and I'll find you something for sure.

As a matter of fact, if we can finalize an ongoing deal with a certain aerospace engineering firm, we'll have to double our helpdesk/support staff!

The weather may be drastically different from what you're used to in TN, but if you're looking to move to one of the best places on the planet, let me know!
