    Unhappy SCSI CDR Driver needed??

I have an old Yamaha CDR100 and I just installed it in a new machine running Win2K. It gets recoganized at boot up along with my CD-Rom but win2K doesn't like it in device manager. It says I need to install the driver, I just had it in my Win98 machine and never needed a driver. I am running an adaptec 2940UW card. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Thumbs down

    Hi,

I found the following info on Yamaha's website:

"The Yamaha CDR100PC is a 'Type 4' device and therefore, is NOT Plug and Play.

Windows 2000 and Adaptec software utilize the Microsoft PnP (Plug and Play) interface to locate drives under Windows 2000, and as such, is unable to locate devices that are not Plug and Play.

The only viable solutions to this problem at this time are to move the drive to a PC running Microsoft NT4, a Macintosh running OS 9.x, or to simply replace the drive."

I realize this is not what you're wanting to hear.

    Anyway, Good Luck!
    DonJ
