How was your weekend?
So what did everyone do this past weekend? anything exciting?
I took a final on friday then headed with my honey to the opening of the pittsburgh arts festival. There was a free concert performed by the "Indigo Girls" I've never really paid much attention to them even though they've been around forever. But since I've been gravitating more towards acoustic folk rock lately it seemed like something to try . . . plus the price was right.
I was blown away! They were one of the few concerts I've been to where the performers sound as good, if not better, then they do on their recordings. You could tell they are not an overly "produced" band. beautiful harmonies, and intelligent lyrics.
Saturday we hung around for the cable guy, who was able to improve the picture signal, but couldn't fix the audio problems we are getting through the digital box. Then we rented some movies and stayed in. watched "rat race" again which was as funny the second time as it was the first time.
Spent the day sunday grocery shopping and cooking as we are starting a diet this week to try to drop some pounds before the wedding in sept. Going back the the low/no carb diet again. Made some beef jerky (which I'm snacking on now) and some mushroom gravy which I'll add beef tips to tonight. Our last carbs for quite a while were perogis with onions and butter, and a late night snack of fresh made giant yorkshire puddings with gravy. (May as well go out in style right?)
So all in all it was a pretty nice weekend.

the weekend seemed short for me. Fri. went a graduation. Sat. went to my parents and painted a room then went to her parents and watched the fight. Sun was church then went to lunch and watched star wars, then we watched the basketball game. We pretty much spent sunday with each other since school starts tonight for me.

friday (after work) -- played softball, went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and, as I like to put it, "rifled" someone down from deep left field.
saturday -- worked until 4:30, went home, watched the Texas 500, what a race
sunday -- propped the car up, fixed my moving brakes (the pads inside the caliper were moving, had to get a piece of steel to hold 'em down, thank you napa, and it was a PITA) no more squeeky brakes!!
hehe, pretty uneventful

My weekend consisted of setting up graduation party stuff for my sister. She graduated highschool with weighted GPA of 4.375 and 75 hrs of college credit. She received all A's in every subject since she started school.
Needless to say she was Valedictorian (sp?)
So I set up big 20 x 30 tent, 75 chairs, 12 tables etc. Oh yeah I made a cool VCD that played on my DVD player that showed pictures of her.
And other than that I also studied for two finals.
What a weekend.
