I have Road Runner cable...it's actually pretty good. 2Mbit down, 384K up, and rarely any outages.

<hr /></blockquote>where you from? I got road runner too and my outages are more than i would like.<hr /></blockquote>North Carolina. At first there were tons of outages but it turns out the cable line was bad, so they put in a new line and a new modem...no major problems since.

<hr /></blockquote>Uhm, RoadRunner and Good i would not put in the same line. My call centre has the RoadRuner contract for Tech support.

The best that is said is "Hell on Earth". Contant Queue. Count yourself lucky JMM, your in a lucky spot.

There was talk of me being moved to that contract, I told them i'd quite the day they did that. I'm not there yet

Mostly I've heard bad stuff about Comcast and of course, @home back in the day...

I'm surprised...ever since they fixed the cable line there have only been a few outages...the first one in months was several days ago, due to a thunderstorm but cable was back on in a few hours.

BTW, how'd you know my alternate handle JMM? You registered in January 2002 and that was when I quit the site only to return a few days ago...

I have to say that I have little outages every so often here on my cable. Not Road Runner but my problem has to deal largely with my apartment building....but by no means will you regret it.....you will wonder what took you so long to get it.

I've had a cable modem for a little over 3 years now. I'm pretty used to it. Trust me, the excitement goes away .

I remember when a friend and I lived together. We had a Coax network and routing the dial-up 33.6K modem to each computer. That was a sad sad sad period in our lives. Now, we look back on those days and think WOW! We've come along way.

And there are a few other instances where your other handle was used. Also, i've been ghosting the boards for a lot longer then when i registered.

Edit: Also has part of a T&D, Danimal posed as you for a while. From what i'm told, he did a good job
