Post Shipping to the USA. Arrgg!!

I just filled out three export forms for Purulator in order to ship some memory back to Crucial. What’s next, leaving a sample in the small plastic cup. How is paper work supposed to protect people. Do terrorists have moral qualms about misrepresenting items on a shipping invoice? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
No need to be concerned. The voices in my head assure me I am completely sane.

Yeah I know how you feel
at the moment I am in the middle of trying to send a hub to Taiwan for service, so far there has been at least 15 emails and also one RMA form that I have had to send three times. The emails give me a bit of a chuckle though, it must be hard for him to converse in English but he tries hard....
and I still have to wait for replies now just to send the damned thing.....
Just trying to explain to him that we understood that it was out of warranty but wanted t repaired anyway took 5 emails from us.....

    example email
    Mayet,
The attached fiels is our RMA request form.
Please fill the form for detail and send back.
We will offer one RMA no.to you. Then we will quote you the RMA fee.
And you need to sign back the RMA quotation. Please send back the fault
device and write down the RMA no. on carton. Our RMA dep. will take care it.
Do you know my means ?
    Best regards
    Johnny

Overall it has been a frustrating and time consuming experience but unfortunately no-one services them here in Australia and the company who distributes them explained ever so nicely that we would have to pay their service fee, plus the freight and taiwan fee for them to send it to Taiwan for service and then another service fee when it returned to check it....so I figure, though it has been a paper trail it will end up costing me much less to deal with taiwan direct....
and besides I like Johnny...he a nice happy guy.....

does make you wonder though in this modern day why they need all the paperwork, just think how long these things would have taken 10 or 20 years ago..

I was RMAing to ASUS my vid card.. I had no issues shiping it there.. UPS worked great. no probs at customs, nothing. Sending it back, the stupid card got stuck in customs for about 3 weeks. Total turn around time. 1 month.

I'm happy though, instead of fixing it, they sent me a brand new card (that was even more over clockable)

Look folks. The RMA process is a hard ride. They want you to endure as many hardships as possible. They figure if you get $hit, you will forget about it.

RMA's cuts the profit margin to nearly ZERO.

I deal with this on a daily basis. I take no crap from anyone. They are out to make you "fuggit 'bout it"

    Keep that in mind.

    Unhappy

Less than 6 weeks in Alaska and I have already had to explain twice that yes Alaska is in the United States (put on hold once to verify that this was true) . I've also been told by one Einstein that they, Sears in this case, only ships to the lower 45 . When I asked which 3 of the lower 48 were excluded he said "Ah Dude Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico."
Only in the Good Old USA!
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!

Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.
