anything but this.....
allow me to set the stage hehe...
School lets out. Its like every other day, just nicer out. 75 degrees make for a quick ride to work. I turn in to our office park. There's the Compuserv building, always nice, clean cut lawn, nice cars, even though I'd love to burn it down, but anyway -- whats this? hhhmm...their signs gone....oh well, the old one was raggid...thats cool.
-= time lapse =-
I jump in my car, headin for home, make a lil left and right and STOP dead cold. The sign has changed, its bright blue....but its not compuserv....its ...du du ddduuuu AOL!! I've hated AOL since AOL verison 3 was out and now...they have a building right ...RIGHT in my way every night. NOOOOO!!!!
resist...urge to ...destory ...bu..building....

35 million is a bit inflated, besides, the people who sign up need to be told the difference between a right click and a left click. the enlightend people know AOL for what it is. a Virus.

is this 32 paying subscribers, or does this include users of AIM and people who have contracts forced down their throat by the likes of Comcr@p?
So, so busy lately. Oh, where do I start?

Whats the difference? AOL have owned Compuserve for years now. It was only a matter of time before the Compuserve brand was finished off.

Regardless, I would still rather get stabbed in the arm, and have my wallet stolen, than have AOL forced upon me.
*sigh*

There is still one thing that AOL/Compuserve do that no other isp does, (that I know of), which is to have a local or free number in MOST countries. Therefore it is invaluable to the business traveller who needs to get on line without having to find out the local isp details, sign up and then get online.
While its a pain in the proverbials, it does have that one good aspect.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

True, very true. A visiting missionary at the college I work for had AOL dial-up numbers for Siberia amongst other unlikely places.
No need to be concerned. The voices in my head assure me I am completely sane.
