    Resolved [RESOLVED] MSCDOO1

MSCD001, GIVEN REFERENCE IN AUTOEXEC.BAT TO (AS) THE IDE CD-ROM DRIVER - IS THIS AN ACTUAL FILE NAME. I'M STARTING FROM A FORMATTED HARD DRIVE (IN DOS), AND AFTER INSTALLING THE CDROM, WHEN BOOTING I GET A MESSAGE 'NO DRIVER INSTALLED'. I'VE TRIED THE
FX116.EXE & UNIIDE, AND HAVE ENTERED THE MSCDEX LINE TO CONFIG.SYS & AUTOEXEC.BAT.I'M
DEALING WITH WIN95 CDROM THAT HAS 18 CAB FILES I CAN'T COPY TO FLOPPY, SO I NEED THE CDROM ACTIVE FIRST. PLEASE, HELP!

OK. Read carefully & insert the lines EXACTLY as stated below.

    Download UNIIDE.

Extract the files to a Temporary directory on your HDD.

Copy MSCDEX.EXE & CDROM.SYS to your bootable floppy disk.

Edit the CONFIG.SYS on the Floppy & insert this line :- DEVICE=A:\CDROM.SYS /D:OEMCD

Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT on the Floppy & insert this line :- A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:OEMCD

When you have done this, save the files to the flopy & reboot.

Your cd-rom should now be active when booting from the floppy disk.

Welcome to Windrivers bunnyyo38. Seeing as this thread is 4 yrs old, things have changed a lot. What we need is to find out what your problem is and what you are trying to accomplish. If you would give us more information, there may be a easier way to accomplish this.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!
