Fill us in. Others are wondering Too.

Darren is gone to another web site. I won't say exactly what happened (partially because I don't know ALL the details) but suffice it to say that although it wasn't on good terms, I believe he still holds Scott in high respect. If this is incorrect I'm sure he will arrange to have me corrected

Yeah, I noticed it too. Darren hasn't been a MOD for about 2 weeks now. I think he may be hangin' over at cobra's new site damnstudleyboyz.com or something like that. Darren was a good MOD and I hated to see him go. And if you guys haven't noticed, a lot of other people haven't been posting as much as they used to either, if not at all. I wonder what happened. We've been left in the cold I guess, oh well.

So does anyone want to comment on the details of what happened to drive him away or the reason he left? Why is it such a big secret?
Also, I've noticed that a lot of the older members haven't been posting as much, but don't forget that it's summertime. Time for play outside and whatnot. Come fall and winter the boards will swell again with posts, probably.

I'm not exactly an ancient user or anything, but I stopped posting for a while because the boards were to damn slow. I think the couple shake downs we had about censorship drove a few people away too. Just to catch me up on things, what members that used to post all the time don't?
I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

I'm still around, but I've found myself not posting as much for many reasons--I work a lot, I'm out having fun with friends, I have dial-up at home, and I've been posting on several other sites as well. It all adds up to less time for WinDrivers

I think most of the major posters that don't post as much is because of the server problems on the forums. I didn't even browes Windrivers for about a week because of it.

The censorship thing almost drove me away too. The anti hacking/anti warez thing I find rather odd since this is the site that lead me to virtually all of the hacking sites on the net before it got merged/bought/whatever by internet.com. There used to be a set of hacking links right below the news of the day/week. I just made an attitude change as this really is the best site to find info and get friendly advice. Personally I don't like the fact that the mods can delete posts on a whim, but I knew the rules when I signed up for an account and I'm not going to piss and moan about it.
I post a lot at night when nobody is on the boards. They are faster then. I have to say that I've learned more from these boards than from books, school and work and I don't see myself going anywhere soon.
So, nobody answered my quetion about Daren. What happened to make him leave and why the hush hush attitude about it???

I have the utmost respect for Darren, so I don't want to say why he left, mainly because there were many little reasons that added up to a huge headache for him, and I don't quite understand them all. I think Darren would be the best person to explain it.
Personally I think he was tired (I mean fatigued, not bored) with these Forums and needed a vacation.
We still miss him, and I'm sure he'll be back someday.

Got it. I read earlier in the post that he had gone to hang at Cobras site, but that leads to the question "What happened to Cobra?"

I am one of those that don't post here as much as I used to.
I will not go into why any of us are either not here at all or post less.
But Darren and Cobra are both doing well. And the site actually is being run by Darren AND Cobra....and they are doing a terrific job!

Right couple of things to clear up
- It is not Cobra's Site, it is OUR site. He pays the bills, I do all the work.
- Secondly. I am not posting here anymore due to all the backstabbing that went on. None of it was said directly to me but was forwarded onto me by friends who had recieved it all.
- Thirdly, all the Porn site remarks pissed me off as well. DSB is not a porn site like it has been mentioned as. If anyone can find a single XXX rated photo or movie on there then I they are doing a better job than me & I designed & built the site.
- Lastly, I have been out of the PC game now for nearly 8 months and have got very rusty. I have forgotten more than most know in that period of time and simply put, why should I be offering advice if I am not part of the 'Game'???
I have held back from posting now for a while and this is a one-off post. So don;t expect it to continue
