[RESOLVED] Asus 36x Reads slow

My Asus CD-ROM take about 40 sec. to read my disks, Audio disks are fine! I have it hooked up to Master secondary IDE. I used the new drivers v1.50 from Asus site did nothing for performance. My config.sys and autoexec.bat look good. When I look at the Device Manager it informs me that It's Asus CD-ROM, using the standard CD-ROM drivers from Windows. I'm running Asus P5A board with AMD 350 and Windows 98.
CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP OR GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS.

First of all, you can remove the DOS driver from config.sys and autoexec.bat. These are real-mode drivers that can sometimes interfere with Win9x's 32-bit drivers. The next thing I would do is make sure that DMA is disabled. Go to the CD-ROM drive's properties in device manager and uncheck the "DMA" box. Then go into CMOS and disable DMA for the secondary master.
