More car stuff !
Well boys, its finally gonna happen. We're pullin the engine on my 89 cougar (3.8L supercharged)
Just about 1/2 hour ago I pulled the radiator, disconnected the trans lines (busted one of em' but gives me excuse to install transcooler). A lot of stuff is already out, alternator, intercooler and tubes, throttle body, tons of stuff and they're sittin on the side so this should be fun.
I've got a friend thats bringing over an air compressor (impact socket!! yes!), a engine "crane" (I call it a hoist, but thats just me) and a engine rack -- I'm excited So if any of ya are bored and around ohio, send me a PM and I'll give ya directions, we start around 5pm Saturday.

My car is also 'sans engine' at the moment (looking like another 4 weeks now! ) And im stoked about getting it back on the road. Dont mind waiting, as long as the job is good <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Sounds great! I am so looking forward to my next project. In about 2 months I am going to install a supercharger/intercooler kit on my 96 Mustang GT. And the week after that I am upgrading the whole exhaust, headers, high flow cats, and Borla cat back w/ side exhaust. It is going to sound sooo sweet not to mention between the two I should add around 120 HP min.
Pimps in da' front..... Ho's in da' back..... and Chumps in da' Trunk!

this is fun wish I could help, live to far
I replaced an engine in two of my cars.
1976 Ford Ranchero and a 1970 Mercury Comet
Itsreally fun to do. It goes fast whent here are more people there or there just people not in your way.
heres a tip:
When you put the engine back in, attach the tranny to it (if you have not taken out the tranny then I suggest taking it out, then attaching it to the engine.) It makes things go smoother.
Also when you put the engine in, tilt the engine so the the tranning is pointing down
this helps when you are trying to get the engine in. (you will have the cherry picker high though)
- Mount everything on the motor before you install it (saves time)
like install the manifold, , heads, waterpump, spark plugs, and if it will fit the headers.
Well have fun wish I was there helpin.

And yea, knew about puttin things back on before hand, its all the electrical stuff I'm worried about to tell ya the truth....stuff everywhere
