I guess fast is a relative term. Your car may be fast compared to other 4 cylinders, but that is where it ends.

Nothing personal. I just cant see putting thousands into a honda and putting a gigantic wing on it, flowmasters and all of that. for that money I could build a small block that couldnt be compared to a 4 cylinder...actually I did that and for much less than what some people put into their cars

Wow, you know, you have great perception. I didn't even notice until you said something that EVERY Honda owner rushes right from the dealership, straight to the spoiler shop and get a gigantic wing plastered to their car. Oh and do you see that EVERY person that owns a Mitsubishi Eclipse spends $1000 on rims as soon as they buy their car. Oh and EVERY person that buys and old GTO buys plush dice to put in their rear view mirror. Oh, oh and EVERY person that owned an older Nova put larger tires in the back and smaller ones in the front and EVERY person that had an older Impala slammed it to the ground. Are you picking up on my sarcasm yet because I'm laying it down pretty thick.

Point out where I mentioned "every honda" It should have been obvious I was referring to the "suped up hondas".
Hondas are fine cars of the lot. I wouldn't be ashamed to drive one.
But then I laugh when one pulls up next to me and starts revving it up. Pathetic really. Sounds almost identical to my first minibike I got way back when I was 7.

Hey Disarm, please reread what I wrote. My Honda is mechanicaly as stock as the day I bought the car. I could care less about how fast my car goes, as long as it gets me from point A to point B, thats all I care about. Why did I get a Honda, they are dependable, roomy for my needs, good resale value and a car I can drive and drive and drive.....
Don't take this as a flame back to you, just I am not a onda driver who thinks my car is fast....if you want a fast car, I'll post a pic of my buddies GS GranSport.

You will probably all get a giggle out of this, then: Bryan's Rice-Boy Page

"Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks"
Mostly the problem is that Honda's, Mitusbishi's, Toyota's, etc. are cheap, economical ( better mpg ), and cost much less to insure. Most teenagers would love to drive a fire breathing V8 RWD Mustang or Camaro, but they can't afford them. So what do they do? They buy an Eclipse, a Civic, an Accord, etc. and then "soup" them up with spoilers, wings, body kits, stickers, "fart can" mufflers, etc. to make them unique. They usually are faster than the average I4, but obviously no match for the majority of american muscle cars ( V8's ). Also most imports are nimble and do great on the twisties. I'm not an "import" type person. IMO, it has to have a V8 and RWD, so that is why I drive a '95 Mustang GT... for others looks are more important than power, so as I said before "Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks"

I reread it right after I posted my reply. All I read to start was the first line. In that case I didn't mean to flame. I wouldn't mind having a honda myself for a daily driver. I drive a 2001 S-10 currently. The thing is a piece of SH*T. It has had electrical problems since day 1. If I could I'd drive my car every day...gas cost way too much though. Gets close to 13 Mpg if I'm lucky. Here is a pic if you are nterested. http://www.wwcs.k12.in.us/students/williamsa/must.jpg
It was just a shell when I got it. Old cars are fun to drive.

I can see that:
A) This thread is going downhill real fast
B) There is absolutely no point to this thread
C) I don't care. AFAIC, you are fortunate to even HAVE a vehicle! I lived in Toronto for 4 years without one, and it wasn't fun.

LOL @ "fart can" mufflers.
That is the funniest thing I have ever heard.
I understand what you are saying. But if you can afford to soup them up maybe you could afford something a little better. It's different for me I guess. I grew up around fast cars. My dad has a 55 chevy, currently parked but he plans on putting a 454 in it. He also has a 68 camaro with a 350. He said next time he comes to visit his car is gonna be faster than mine. I can't wait. The father/son competition is great.
Growing up, I don't remember a single time where we drove into town in an "economy" car.
The S-10 I have right now is the last one I will ever own. I'm selling it when spring rolls around.

Disarm, take your complaints to the Rice-Boy page referenced above...this serves no purpose on a Tech bullentin board.
