I wear my wedding band and a watch. I don't function well without the phone numbers and time readily available. If I were to start working on equipment, rather than provide service via phone, I'd seriously think about getting my band split. If it ever got caught on something, it might give and come off before my finger would come off my hand.
God is all knowing, I am just human.

I work at a property that deals with Mercury (Hg) switches and other hazarous materials. I learned the hard way that Hg amalgamates with gold, silver, copper, etc. Lost my wedding ring and Swiss Army watch 6 years ago (Mrs. pakprotector was not amused !) So now it's a cheap Timex Ironman and no other jewelry. Gotta keep the Mrs. happy!

Definitely no jewelry in a machine shop but I made the mistake of wearing a metal band watch while working on a Military FM radio years back......band clasp poped loose and hit the main power amp tube..........20 minutes later I woke up across the room with a hell of a burn on my wrist. This particulair radio was pumping 75 watts at into a dummy load at the moment of contact. Needless to say I haven't worn anything but clothes and boots to work since.....work is what pocket watches are for.

I used to wear CMOS chips and IDE cables and crap like that when I was working the front of the "old store" (quit that job) I used to tell the customers that I had computer componants implants into me and I usually would "hook up" to their computer and make a phony diagnosis. It provided me and my co-workers hours of entertainment watching the customers look at me in awe and disgust.

I just wear a necklace and its too short to get in the way. I stopped wearing watches when i started wearing a pager. If I dont have the pager on that means I no longer care what time it is.

I used to have a pager, but gave it up with the cell I got rid of. I have a nice watch my Girlfriend gave me, and we are looking into some type of necklace for me. Other than than, nothing else. I lost my HS ring a few months after I "grautated". I always rid myself of everything but wallet when working on a unit. I hate having obstructions like watches, keys, lighter, etc... It just gets annoying to me.
