I am but a small fish here, but I feel that the attitude to people in the chat room totally sucks, I have tried to help newcomer and get called all sorts of $H*T when they the person asking for help does not appreciate my help, this is why I seldom go to the chat room,
Life is highway, we all begin and end the same way. But everyones journey it unique

It's the same in or out of the forums, I get user all day that call me stupid, jerk, doesn't know what he is doing. All because I won't help them configure their home computer or get their OS reinstalled 5 minutes before their meeting. Where ever you go you will give the right answer or something and you will be chastized. The only people that will understand you is other techies. That is why we have to drop this crap and play nice. I have made it a new rule for myself that I won't respond to nasty posts.

Unfortunately, I will have to agree with talltech here. The chatroom does need some change.

I think a few people have previously mentioned, as long as you stay out of the chatroom, you'll miss 90% of the foolishness and bulls!ht.
Hard work often pays off in the long run, but Lazyness always pays off now.

I must say that several trends have developed that are taking the fun out of it for me personally.
1. I come here first to give and get help on tech related issues and then to check out the fun forums and generally chat with the other users - if there is something interesting going on.
2. The chat rooms are a waste of time. In a whole room of people maybe one is actually there to get help and the rest just are overflow from the yahoo chat rooms, or need to have a seperate room to yak.
3. May of the questions asked in the forums are simply repeats of the same questions asked a month ago and I have become bored with answering the same thing again and again.
4. All too often it takes too much energy to respond to a general melee of ego's and feelings that occur because we have all forgotten the basic rules of descency that allow us to co exist in the real world should also hold true here. And that this is primarily a support forum
5. All of this combined to keep me fairly quiet and I have been looking at alternate sites to lend a hand - as I do not understand Windrivers any longer.
I am very sorry to see some of the other members go, and am right behind them, not because anyone has offended me, but simply because several of the users that I looked up to as technical wizards (true tech gods) have left leaving a dark and cold place bereft of joy and knowledge. However several very intelligent, polite and genuine people are still left here and that is why I have not completely left, however I no longer can refer people to this site for help, as more often than not what they get is in no way an intelligent response to a well phrased question.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but I almost do not care anymore. If anyone shares similar beliefs, or sees any whay that I can help to improve Windrivers in any way (because it is my virtual home) I am all ears, until then - I think I will return to my silence.
Thanks

True, this is a problem. If it happens it must put off potential WinDrivers beneficiaries. If I post I try to understand the point of the question before opening my mouth.
It's difficult to avoid though where anyone can post answers as well as questions, and still used to happen at times in the past. I started posting when I saw occasional responses that I knew weren't the answer to people's problems. (Not that mine always are....)

I would like to request that a mod close this thread.
I have had my questions answered and I think it's straying from the subject at hand. (No offense to the other posters intended.)
