CDROM Not recognised
My Matsu****a CR-562-B CD ROM isn't recognised by my computer. I get a message saying PCI bus read error. It all used to work. Did I get a virus? I have run FDISK and reformatted my HDD but cannot load Win98 because the CDROM won't load.

Have you checked the ribbon cable that connects the cd rom
they are known to go bad
its worth a couple bucks in my opinion to see if that is the problem.
also are both the hard drive and cd rom on same ide controller
if so make sure hard drive is set as a master and the cd is set as a slave.

You must have an installation software for the Matsu****a CR-562-B x2 speed not IDE CDROM to load it in DOS.
