Ya need to install the drivers for the secondary IDE or enable it in the BIOS...........
SafeMode will not show you a CD-Rom

Your secondary channel is not set up in the CMOS SETUP. Go to CMOS Hit the delete key on boot up check to make sure the secondary IDE channel is active.Smokinparts.com

Here's an easy thing to try: Gp to Device Manager where the yellow exclamation mark is that you saw, and remove that device. Then reboot. It should reinstall it.

Then check to see if the yellow ex. mark is still there. If it is, then problem solved, but if not, then maybe you could try disabling one of the IRQ's in the BIOS or something. At work, using Award Bios, I used to always disable one IRQ because the network card sometimes would conflict with the video, so disabling it would free one up and all the problems would go away. I can't remember exactly what I did though because I haven't had to do it in a long time.
