    Post Roxio 5 Blue screens

I have XP Pro. I have installed Roxio 5 , not take two or the other blah - blah programs, just direct cd and ez cd creator.
The program works fine , but at a restart or shutdown the machine eventually blue screens and I have to hit the power button on the PC to shutdown and then push again to restart. I have applied and tried the updates , tried both the 2000 version and the normal one. Both with the same results, making sure to follow the directions when applying them.
Does anyone have an idea as to how to fix this, or am I stuck until Roxio comes with the XP support that they claim is coming after the 25th.

    Any help is appreciated.
I do not like Nero, so that is out...

Best bet is to uninstall all Roxio. Reboot and install your retail Roxio 5 (if you get an error saying their is no compatible burner present say continue anyway). DO NOT REBOOT WHEN IT'S DONE. Next install the 5.02b update from Roxio's website (you shouldn't need the W2k update) and when that's done THEN you can reboot.

Note to self: Re-index brain cells, database corruption present.
