Resolved [RESOLVED] Converting from ATA 100 to ATA 33

Is there any increase performance if my motherboard only support ATA 33?

    Cool

A flash BIOS may do the trick. Otherwise, buy an add-on controller card.

I don't think you can upgrade from ATA33 to ATA66 without adding a card. Even if you flash your bios to one that supports ATA66, it will not upgrade you to ATA66.

Your IDE chain is only as fast as the slowest part of the chain - in this case your controller limits you to ata33 - a BIOS upgrade probably will not help, but you could buy a replacement IDE controller that does support ATA 66/100 or replace the mainboard in the computer that supports the standard (may be a safer descision).
