What exactly is the problem?
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

I'm not experiencing any problems whatsoever with Easy CD Creator Platinum v5.02b and XP Professional....I did have a shutdown problem with XP when I first started testing it but finally resolved that by replacing my USB ethernet connection with a PCI Adapter.

The only problem I have since installing EZCD5 and the update to 5.02b is that when I shutdown I get a blue screen stop error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
Technical information ***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000002DC,0x000000FF,0x00000000,0x804E9D48)
whatever all that is supposed to mean. Maybe the update for XP will correct thi problem.

I had one non shutdown after installing update, and know it reboots instead of shutting down, I
read in a newsgroup a post from somone who said he was getting similar problem, which after system restore it went and came back upon reinstalling Roxio, I have only been with it a day so am still getting used to it.

To make ECD Creator run properly in XP this is what you need to do,...
Uninstall it, reboot.
Re-Install it,. when prompted to reboot yet again click on "no" then install the 5.02b update.
reboot and surprise ECD Creator works flawlessly,. contrary to what Roxio says.
Titles can be misleading,.. Don't beleive everything you read.

Personally, You dont need Roxio since XP comes with a built in cdwriting software.
Anyways, what I did was I downlaoded ForceAspi and utility that will force install the ASPI Layer onto 2000 and Xp without installing adaptec ez cd creator (Roxio Now)
I then installed the latest version of Nero and I was off burning fine.
You may want to try and update the aspi layer

Do you leak any fluids, do you have any bumps on your rear, do you have any unpleasant odors?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

I am a little unclear - I tried using XPs CD writing software, and it burnt me 3 coasters which forced me to install EZCd 5 platinum
not familiar with the ASPI issue. Anyone willing to explain?
TIA

Also, in relation to this topic, after I installed EZ CD 5 Platinum, my computer now reboots when I go to shutdown.
Minor inconvenience, but sure would like to figure out why it does that

Thunder dude - the 5.02b patch doesn't fix the shutdown problem - rebooting instead of shutting down - Roxio put out a specific patch for that. See the link above....
