[RESOLVED] No C: Drive?
I've 'tried' to install a new Hard Drive on the office PC, and when the computer boots up, it says 'Drive not ready-insert boot disk'. I do this, only to be told there is no FAT or FAT32 Partition - type FDISK to resolve it. When I do this, it tells me that there are 'No fixed disks present'. I'm pretty sure it's there as I used OnTrack to check it for me - and it said that it was a Quantum TRB850A. So I presume it exists but why won't it do anything?

Does the BIOS see it, and if so, does it see it properly?
Check and make sure you have the drive type set to auto in the BIOS.

I know it seems stupid, but you can never be too sure, so in that case I have to ask.. are you sure it's plugged in properly? You don't know how many times I have neglected to plug in the power, or the patch cord, or plug it in the wrong way. I always feel pretty stupid once I realize what the problem is, but it's better to feel stupid than to not have a working computer right?

Have you (fdisk)ed and (format)ed your new hard drive?

Check to see if your BIOS supports this large of a drive. If not, you'll need to use the BIOS overlay software that came with the hard drive. Personally, I don't much like the overlay software that comes with Quantums.
