Tough question
Ok, I'm having problems with Windows95C and Office 2000. PCs which have win95c installed on them will not shut down after Office2000 is installed. I can't really find anything at Microsoft.com about it either. Could it possibly be with McAfee 4.5? I know there's a problem with file optimizer and McAfee 4.5 running at boot up, could this be similar with shut down?

Only way to find out is Uninstall the programs you think are causing the problem and try to shutdown. You can either uninstall or disable them from registry.
In the past I have had similar problems linking to Norton Anti-Virus.

One of the most likely causes of shutdown errors are antivirus software or even a corruped sound file. check them out

Hi All,
I have experienced this many a time with anything win9x that has IE4 or above, and espically with Office 2000.
It is a windows 9x problem. Windows 9x if on a network or with a large amount of software IE, Office, etc tends to stop at "Please wait while Windows shut down. There are a few utilities that can do a shut down for you instead of the START -> Shut Down option in Windows.
Anti-Virus would be the biggest problem as it maybe trying to scan for a floppy disk or the registry at shutdown which means it's just runs out of time and thus windows stops shutting down.
Hope this helps

I believe Kingtbone has already posted another topic somewhere to see what could be done with McAfee 4.5 which was causing his shutdown problems.

Yeah, I found out that was the problem. I still don't know why, but what are you gonna do?

Anybody know how to get out of Full view mode when it is stuck there? Is there a back door somewhere? Or maybe a DOS command?!

A full-screen dos window? Try alt-enter, or alt-tab, or control-escape, or control-alt-delete, or alt-space.
