    Question MRTG server

    Hi Guys,
We recently had a consultant come in and setup a MRTG server. He said that there is no way to tell the software what speed the pipe is that you want to monitor. Apparently it assumes a default of 256 Kbps and you have to do the math with the actual speed to get the correct utilization percentage.
Does anyone know of a way to set the actual speed of the pipe in the MRTG software??

    Thanks in advance,
    Crofty01

<a href="http://www.simpleweb.org/tutorials/implementation/mrtg.pdf" target="_blank">Here</a> is an implementation PDF which may give you some background info on MRTG.

I was designing a web interface at my previous job so that we could get feedback by clicking on our switches' ports, but I never had the chance to finish it. For the price, it does an excellent job.

    The MRTG <a href="http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/" target="_blank">official page</a> can also help you out, particularly the <a href="http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/links.html" target="_blank">MRTG Companion Sites / Links </a> and the <a href="http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/users.html" target="_blank">MRTG User Pages</a>.
