    New Forums

    I've upgraded the forums to vbulletin so that the speed will be better. Please enter the User CP and edit/make sure that everything is correct and set your preferences and update your avatar if one is wanted. I'll be making more continous changes to the board little by little. At the moment, I'm not sure that the Steam Room will reopen, as it is, I need to set permissions back up which will not happen quickly. Until then post in the Tech Lounge and keep it clean or it will be deleted without notice. Also, in the import process, some of the private messages did not port over, I will keep the old board open for read only purposes and to retrieve any lost PMs for a week or two and then it will be deleted. Also, also, it may seem a bit sluggish at times while a do some onetime reindexing of the initial databse, after that....

    Oh since I administer my own vBulletin board I'll post a list of hacks up that IMO are very good and don't slow the board down

    Maximum size: 1 bytes does that need changing?

    On the old forums, i can still post polls.. i posted one to see..

    And there is no steam room on the new forums? Is that gone completly?

    I do however like the change.. the "report this post to a moderator" is a very good feature

    Scott when ya get a chance, can you please install the quick reply hack?

    And how about maybe an additional white/blue color scheme or something? vB supports user-selectable color schemes (unlike old mucky UBB ) and I'm sure I am not the only one who can't stand this green. Sorry my opinion...

    Also avatars are only 50x50 is that intentional

    And we need our old smilies back

    The speed definitely improved! I'm posting this over a 28.8 connection at work and though the page loads aren't blazing, they are tolerable. seems to be a nice change so far. I also like the subscribed threads in the profile.

    Not sure I like the 50X50 avatars (you can hardly see my pup "shadow") but I can understand why it's limited considering some of the large avatars in the past. any limit on sig lines? (might not be a bad idea)

    I like most of it. It does not show the top subject on each thread on the main page and the picture limitation is 50x50 which is kinda small. I see how that saves some load time but 80x80 would be nice. Overall though it is nice.
