Resolved [RESOLVED] UM8886B Hard Disk Controller Installation Problems under Win95

Please can somebody help with setting up an UM8886B hard disk controller under windows 95. When I install the "UM8886B PCI Dual IDE Controller" and restart, windows automatically sets up the "Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller" twice with exclamation marks. I have tried setting the "NOIDE" option in the registry to "00" which corrects the exclamation marks. But once I restart again, it sets up "Primary" and "Secondary IDE Controllers" with exclamation marks instead.

    Thanks in advance

I would try going into regedit and deleting the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ENUM\MF key. This contains all of the info on your IDE controller. You might also try just letting Windows set up the controller as a "Standard Dual PCI IDE Controller".

    Good luck,

    Steve
