Help me plot my REVENGE
Here's the story. Our two top techs from the company came out to Toronto from Vancouver three weeks ago to do a whole-sale server upgrade. They did it over the weekend, and I was not here because I had prior committments out of town. So I was not able to stick around to help out. However they did not have a lot of trouble, and everything is running perfectly.
But yesterday, I got an unpleasant surprise. In our office, we have a system where the employee of least seniority is assigned to keep the fridge stocked with beer, and people who want a beer mark it on a chart taped to the fridge. Then at the end of the month, the tabs are collected.
Well these two guys put six beers on my tab for a total of $12 that I had to pay out of my own pocket! Not only has this hurt me financially, this has also hurt my reputation as a person that does not drink. I don't want people thinking I am a drunkard.
So now it's time for revenge, and while any ideas are good, I mainly need help from a technical standpoint. Here is some critical data:
- They are both network administrators
- I do not have physical access to their office (it is 3000 miles away)
- I know the administrator password and can access the servers in their office remotely (FTP included)
- We use Novell Netware
- I want the prank to get them both, keep them busy for a while
- I want to conceal the fact that I did it for as long as possible (but face it, they will eventually find out)
- whatever is done MUST NOT endanger the corporate network or affect other innocent users in any way
- it can't be illegal or so bad that it would get me fired
My idea right now is to set a policy via Netware that will force a specific wallpaper on their workstations (when they login) and then lock down their workstation so they can't change it. but I'm not sure what yet....

How about some wallpaper of 2 monkeys that says "I'm a beer stealing drunken little monkey" on it. Also if you can get in their e-mail and send out a confession to everyone in the company about how they stole your beer.

Create a wallpaper with the words “You owe me twelve bucks!”

I like Daemon's suggestions.
I'd add a reboot command at the end of their personal login script - or maybe just a message that they have to click through such as "I owe MacGyver 12$ and an apology" with that darn Novell alert sound.

I was thinking of that one,
(I know, this is old) Take a screenshot of a desktop, and set that as the wallpaper and hide all the icons...
