    Question ram

    how can i tell what type of ram a system has if i want to add more and don't know what to buy.........

    Give us a little detail about your system.
    i.e. mobo, processor, etc....
    You could also figure out who manufactures your board and what the model number is, and check out their website.

    Check your mobo documentation and see if you have tin or gold leads.....ya gotta buy the same type

    Try using this program, ive used a couple of times when i havent been able to identify the make and modle of the ram.

    The program Dimm ID is the one you want 4th from the top.

    DIMM ID utility works only for Intel' chipsets.

    Not entirely true. I have come across boards that will only work with either gold or tin contacts, and not a mixture or the other.
