    XFree86 Fails to start?

    Help! I cnat figure this out, and my news server wont upload my messages to the "normal FreeBSD Support lines"

    xf86Enable failed to start /dev/io extended IO

    Fatal Server error


    tying to goto the Directory /dev/io i get dosenot exist error.

    why is this... shouldn't hte install automaticaly do this??

    There are 2 different versions of Xfree86. a version 4 and a version 3. Its possible that whichever one you are using doesn't support your hardware.

    Unfortunately I don't know how to setup the server to go from using version 4 to version 3 and vice versa, without a total reinstall.
