Angry VIA chipsets, ON-board AC'97 Codecs and Soundblaster live 1024's in XP

    OK,
VIA chipset, I have disabled the onboard codec, installed my soundblaster live and it crackles, installed the VIA 4in1's a little better but the crackling is still there, any ideas??

    thanks G.

    Ditch the SB Live!
Give me a £ for every SB Live related prob ive seen (esp. on VIA) and id be driving that TVR my wife wants........
Sometimes doing the PCI slot/IRQ shuffle works, but usually I replace it.

AMD Athlon 1100 (not impressed to say the least)
    256meg SDRAM 133
    Creative Geforce 2 GTS
    Creative Soundblaster 1024 Live!
    2x 3COM Network cards.

Never had this problem on the Pentium 4

It seems the 3COM's share IRQ with the Soundblaster hmm will have to shift some IRQ's it seems.

    correction IRQ4 is loaded with

geforce 2, sblive, adaptec 2940uuw, and 2 3com cards.. no wonder the machine is kinda fubared!!

well Looks like i have some real work just a shame im not getting paid

Garak, what has acpi done with all your irqs?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
