do you get sick of stupid, cosmetic questions??
Stupid questions like
"Now, I got an error message saying go here, do this and do this. Should I do something different?"
"can I get speakers for my computer?" and this is at the office...
or cosmetic questions like
"My icons are not in the same place, why are they moved?"
does this drive you nuts?

Yah, you rescue their data from certain death because they download some nasty little virus, you zero fill the drive, format it, reload windows, all the progs they had, you put the data back in the right directories, do all the windows updates, set the virus checker on autoupdate again and hand it back and they say, my icons are in the wrong order.....
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I got an error message while trying to send an email. I didn't bother writing it down and I can only vaguely remember what it said. That was three months ago and it hasn't happened since. Why did that happen?

Can I watch and ask lots of questions while you work? That way, I'll be able to fix it myself next time.
-
Ever since you unchecked the "mute" button so my sound would work, my screen is fuzzy. Why is that?

we got a ticket generator for our helpdesk.
If they dont put the right respones in it goes back to them with an error :P MUAHAHAHHAH
we also have 2 peeps workign the actual helpdesk. Any idiot questions usually get blocked. All the IT engineers / developers number are hidden and non public. As I run the telephone system we can change them within 5 minutes of someone finding them :P
A solution to the icon one though - lock down the desktop :P we use NT4 mostly and dont allow the users any desktop rights
As I say to all users - Shutup & Re-boot

"Can you move my computer onto my desktop so I can put my monitor on it and raise it?"
So I do it - now the entire department wants it done.
"Oh - it's too high now, can you put it back? "
"I've had you move my system all around my cubicle 6 times this month. Can you move it over to this corner, the other corner was too "busy"..."
On the last one, I lost it - Told her to do it herself.
SO SHE DID! It was a remotely redeeming moment.
