What about the group of us that don't really care one way or another? I honestly can't say which I am going to get when I finally get the money to build a real computer. It will take all sorts of factors for me to decide economically what will fill my computing needs as well as what will have the best performance.

I agree with Cleetus - its dependent on the situation you are building for and the clients preference.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

For me, I go with AMD. Cost is my main concern and I get more power for less money with amd. (Insert home improvement grunting here)

Before the topic gets closed, I want to get in my $.02
Between Intel and AMD the better choice is always

WHICH EVER ONE WORKS BETTER FOR YOU!!!!!!

I think that will be the best argument in this thread.

Voted AMD.
For now...
I'm considering that this poll was asking about personal choice.

Im glad that their both out there!!!!!!
My personal preference has been AMD the last couple years. I do have a friend who swears up and down INTEL..I try to tell him just to give them both a fair look, but won't. I'd feel much better if he had used both and still went intel.. then I would know he is giving them both a fair shot.
That is what I feel, I am not looking for rebuttle(flaming).
Thanks, and please stay civil.

Less money.
More speed.
More fun to support the little guy in any instance. Good for everyone in the long-run. (Although all corporations are Satan.)

Flabooble!
I don't think either really works better and both have benefits and negatives. However, the systems I have bought and built with Intel chips have consistently performed in a more stable manor without the need for constant updates though I believe this to be due to the differences in quality of the chipsets on the motherboards more than the actual CPU.
All of the systems I have built around the AMD chips have had odd quirky problems that were often difficult to diagnose. Again I believe this to be due more to chipset on the motherboard and not the CPU. The only problem I have had from AMD is the new chips have a problem with cooling and run very hot. Apart from that – the chips are the same.
I have a P1, P2, P4, K6-2 (x3) and T-bird (x2).
The fact that AMD chips are presently almost the exact same price as an Intel chip, I‘m casting my vote for the old Intel.

Can I flame the grammar in the title?
Hard work often pays off in the long run, but Lazyness always pays off now.
