I don't know, either he was genuinely a 12 year old let on the net without supervision, or perhaps one of these undercover cops who trawl chat rooms looking for perverts to catch, maybe it was just a bored person with nothing better to do...

If that was a genuine 12 year old then his parents need a wake up call.

I believe that it was a genuine 12 year old. Seriously, how many perverts would hang out in tech chat rooms? They'd go to a teen chat room, pose as an 11 year old, and try to act like every other person who frequents that room (probably also older perverts).

Supervision? I didn't have supervision using the computers when I was 12 (although i didn't get net access until I was 15), and I certainly don't now (I'm 18 btw)

I believe that younger kids should take precautions to avoid perverts, just like little kids are told not to talk to strangers on the street.

remembering that he was online when his folks weren't home, it may be different when they are home...
I'd be the village idiot, but that spot is already taken.

Very confusing situation there. So you think he was just messing around looking for reactions?

Never a dull day in that chat room I tells ya.

I swear that I have seen that before. Not the entire converstaion, but the threat part before. I think there is a little more there than meets the eye.

Now that would be justice wouldn't it? Two pervs thinking each other to be a child and then meeting? - On second thoughts they would probably enjoy each others company

I don't believe he is 12. If his brother is a hacker then why come to the chat room and ask some dumb questions when he could have easily asked his brother.

Must be all those cartoon characters that are attracting kids here... Snoopy, Noonoo, Akuma, etc...

    J/K guys!

It doesn't sound very serious to me, but the chatter may have been a kid anyhow trying to bluster his way about using an imaginary l337 h4x0r older brother.

In any case, Noonoo's right about parental supervision - can't agree more.

Snooper, I am guessing you don't have an older 1337 brother

ya know, I was actually thinking of that when typing the post out. Now that would be freaky.

I think my little brother thinks of me as the older '1337' brother, he constantly asks me how to hack, which I do not know how to do, and see no point in learning how to. I do get pissed off with him asking questions and **** all the time though

This thread has got me so damn confused.

Q1. What's the answer to the topic?

Q2. What's the hidden meaning in the name Mr. Briggs?

mister or master - it was definitely not an adult... (or if it was, a very sick adult)

children need MORE supervision. parents on the whole are pretty good, but round here we've got 10, 11, 12 yr olds hanging round at 10pm + in the dark... what the hell do the parents think they are doing?

kids also need to join (my) karate classes...!!
Mr Miyagi, by any other name... (is this sig short enough?)
