Looking for old-school BIOS--help needed
Hi,
I'm in desperate need of a BIOS update for an A-trend motherboard, but A-trend's site is down and I can't find the BIOS for the model I'm looking for.
It's an A-trend ATC-6220c motherboard.
Thanks for any help rendered.

Yep you're right, all atrend's ftp and http sites are down... Every mention of atrend bios updates list those sites. So unless someone here happens to have that bios, I am afraid you are waiting on lady luck...

I think - let me repeat that - I think that is 1.09a atrend bios
Unfortunately the site is not in a language I understand. You will also need the awdflash.exe
I found it on this site http://www.helpwork.com/driver/html/...ig.asp?BID=124
Good luck!

Strang thing is what about month ago their FTP server was working, and I even managed to download quite a few stuffs from them... not sure about 6220C,though...
I also use this Russian site for downloading BIOSes for disappeared manufacturers (this is the link to A-Trend's page):
http://www.nix.ru/support/drivers.ht...p=4&vendor=129
It is the site of one of the biggest Russian resellers...

More help needed...
Well, I downloaded the files and went to update the BIOS, and it gave me an error message that said something like: "Error, Can't Find the BIOS' Hook."
I've never seen anything like that. Anyone have any information?
Thank you...

OK, I haven't seen that personally, I am sure Ruslan has though. The only information I have found was on a german board...
1. Bios is infected with a virus
2. Bios is protected by jumper or setting in the bios and will not flash
3. Wrong flash utility is used.
Hope this gives you some pointers...

When I looked, there are 2 different versions of 1.09a, maybe different board revisions or just different locations????
http://www.nix.ru/download_from_ftp_ext.html?id=2176

Hope this helps some, as to the error your receiving, it's had to find anything in english on the web Looks like im gonna learn russian..
Which version of the award flash program are you using?
what settings are you using?
Uniflash - latest version as far as im aware, is suitable for both AWARD and AMI BIOS flashes, good luck.

Well...
It seems the motherboard died before I could do anything to it. Oh well, maybe next time.
On a different topic; I have an installation of Windows XP that keeps randomly rebooting. It's on a separate machine, single boot, etc.
Here is the computer's specs:
PSU: 300W
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (256K cache) w/fan
MB: ASUS A7V333-WA VIA KT333, ATA-133, Socket A, I/O ATX, USB 2.0, w/IDE
RAM: 512MB PC-2700 DDR333
Video: ATI Radeon 8500LE, AGP, SVGA w/128MB DDR
MB Sound: AC97 3D Sound Card On-Board
Sound: Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1
CD Burner: 32x10x40 IDE Drive (LG)
NIC: D-Link 10/100 Ethernet Card PCI (DFE-538TX)
HDD: WD/Maxtor 40.0GB IDE 7200RPM
Floppy Drive: 1.44MB Panasonic
I'm thinking it has to do with the PSU. Could it be underpowered? If need be, I can post a list of the computer's installed software.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

XP only reboots on an error if you set it to do so....
right click my computer - properties, advanced, startup and recovery, uncheck automatically restart... then next time you will get the full bsod and you can track it from there... or post the whole message here.
