Cell phones
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new Sprint vision phones. The new vision phones look great, but are the features actually implemented in the network? I'm thinking about "upgrading" my phone, and I want to know if it is worth it. Should I wait a couple of months for the new 2nd gen phones? And yes Draggar, I'm looking in your direction for the answers. :P

I'd say wait. As any upgrade to a system like this, there are problems.
Many, in fact. There are even rumors of people paying for the service since day one, but still don't have it.
The new Vision plans are also centered around the 3G (actualy 2.5G) data, since voice has been implimented since March.
If you don't need the wireless web etc.. then don't bother.
The phones are flashy, but thats about it for now.
(Color screens, new ringers etc..).
Wait. I'd say wait until the holiday season, or at least until October, by then they *should* have all the issues ironed out, and Vision should be rolling normal.

Okay, but it will be tough. I've got friends who are already picking up the new phones and the screens kick the butt of my 5000.
I'm just using you for your brain.

I'll admit, the screen on the 5000 sucks, but it was Sanyo's objective to be the FIRST in this country, and they succeeded. Even the streen on the 5150 was a gazillion times better.

I know, I know. I haven't seen a 5150, but maybe I should do something about my 5000. I've been talking about it for a while though.

Unfortunatly the techs no longer have a say if a phone gets ordered for a warranty replacement anymore.
We just test the phone and see if its under warranty. Thats it.
(Although we can "make" it fail).
The whole process has changed since people wern't sending back the old phones.

my screen on my 3 year old Startac cell phone is pretty Alsome. It only displays the lower half of the number.
I think in a month or two it may be time to get a new cell Phone.
