windows 2000 server with isa server and service pack 3 problem
Strange problem I found after installing service pack 3 on an ISA Server.
Everytime I reboot, it picks up an external IP address, which is fine, but I can't browse the internet. So I change the subnet mask from 255.255.0.0 to 255.255.255.0 and it enables me to browse the internet again.
Then when I reboot the computer the same thing happens, so I go back and change the subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 and everything works fine.
So I uninstalled service pack 3, guess what, the problem dissappeared.
Would be nice if only once a service pack was released that didn't screw up parts of the OS that were already working.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

I will be able to confirm or debunk your post tonight - I am applying SP3 to all of our MS servers (ghost will be helping me "just in case")

I have come into several issues with SP3 since it came out. I think that SP2 is solid enough that you should not use SP3 for a while til they release a fix that works. Just update the security stuff instead of the SP and you should be ok.
