    Human stupidity...

OK, so we were at the arts center last night (concert hall) for the awards dinner.

We were in the VIP parking lot tailgating (hell, we were 4 hours early).

We watched this girl pull in, and park her little POS car next to a nice Jeep SUV. We guess she worked there.

She went inside, then came back out a few minutes later...

When she backed out of her spot, she pulled the wheel too soon and, you guessed it, SMACK into the Jeep.

She stopped, and there were about 15-20 of us there, we all heard it (it was 1 row over) and we ran over to see if she was OK.

Well, now, if you're in this situation, I think you would put the car into drive (foreward) and SLOWLY go back in, keeping the steering wheel where it is so you don't add more damage, right?

    Wrong (according to her).

With all of us watching her (about 10 feet away) she floors the gas, and we hear the terrible ripping, grinding, screeching sound as her car rips across the Jeep.

Her whole front bumper ripped off! It was on the ground, only still attached by the headlight cables....

Sure enough, she left (hit and run).

Now, the Arts Center is on the Garden State Parkway (highway). She left with her bumber dragging, and the ONLY way out of there is though the highway. We are 99% sure that once she got above 10MPH, that bumber would have fallen off and gone under her car and you can imagine the rest...

We're all shaking our heads at the idiocy this girl displayed.

Now the kicker. Her whole front bumber is off, headlights, any grill, all that is off and dragging. The damage on the Jeep?

2 scratches about 5 inches ling (total) on their back bumber (on the part that wraps on the side. Thats it. No dent, nothing.

Hey, at least the idiot is going to have a huge repair bill (and higher insurance rates?).

The "victim" might not have ever known if we didn't report it.

(BTW - we did reprt it and gave her lisence plate # to the police)

Draggar, once you've lived in Paris for a while you learn that this is standard behavouir.

I once wathced a mini and a SAAB broadside each other for 150 metres down a main city road whilst the police watched.

But that driver you describe certainly deserves a big repair bill, especially as she didn't stop to declare the accident!

I didn't think it was possible to witness such a display of raw stupidity in the wild anymore.

Isn't mankind supposed to be civilized?
