Netscape 6.2- I think I lost the mail?
Windows 98 with ie5.5 and netscape 6.2. Customer uses netscape for his pop mail. He has two separate isp's. he gets the mail thru one identiy, but two separate mail accounts. Suddenly he can't get mail from one of the accounts. after his friends try to fix it I get it. I notice that the pop server is incorrect on one of the accounts. However, it is greyed out and I can see the wrong settings but can't change them. I go into the help file and it says you can't change the pop server without deleting the account. So i delete it. Now I can't see the his old mail. I recreate the account using what I think is the previous name but truthfully I am not sure. I went looking for all the inbox files on the hard drive, thinking that like Outlook Express if I find the inbox.dbx files(or whatever extensions netscape uses) I can see where the identities are and find that mail. No go. I tried importing his netscape mail to outlook express 5.5 but it doesn't look like oe 5.5 can import netscape mail from ver 6.2 at all. Any ideas?

I'm not quite sure I've followed. Did you actually find the mail data in the profile folder?
Couple of things I might try:
1. See if there's some kind of cross profile import.
2. See if there's a way to import Netscape mail and try to import it.
3. Try a different e-mail package like Eudora.
4. Try Netscape 7.
Just random thoughts...

I will give that a go. Does anyone know if Netscape has a paid support line? Yes, i will part with some hard earned money for this one.

Something else:

http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns61fmaildisp.html#mdsp
http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns61fmailprob.html#mprb
Another shot in the dark:
Download the equivalent of Mozilla. Import into there. Export out then back into Netscape?
Also: apparently "Inbox" is the actual messages, not the .msf file.
