[RESOLVED] Quantum HDs - Tell me what you really think.
What does everyone think about Quantum drives (new and old). I am getting ready to purchase a Quantum 30gig ATA/66 drive w/2MB cache. Good idea or not?
Thanks!
K.

Never liked them, just my opinion!

Gee Paul, is this an example of "if you can't say anything good, don't say anything?"

My experiences with Quantum drives in the past has all been go0d. I think they are well made and reliable. The HDD brand that I have seen die the most is Western Digital, but that was mainly with the old ones, I think their new ones are OK.

I've had several Quantum drives, nothing new though. They were quirky and some of them would not run as a slave no matter what you tried. I've used a lot of different Maxtor and Seagate drives without any troubles.
