Doew anyone know if the lastest version of Ghost (2003) is able to still read images that were created in version 2001?

I don't know for sure but it seems that there will be backword compability.
This is the logical thing to do.

Or else - no one will buy the new Ghost.

Is Ghost backward compatible with images created by older versions?

    Situation:
You want to know whether the updated version of Ghost will restore images created with an older version of Ghost.

    Solution:
Yes, Ghost is backward compatible. However, some features available in the newer version of Ghost may not be available when restoring an image created by an older version. For instance, Norton Ghost Explorer in Ghost 6.0.3 will not allow you to add files to images created in prior versions of Ghost.

For detailed information, see the document What Versions of Ghost Can Restore What Image Files?
